SPARO's Pipeline

SPARO's Pipeline is a video game released by BitGears, featuring side-scrolling platforming with gimmicks similar to Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong. It is the first game in the SPARO's Pipeline series and focuses on the adventure of dangerous duo Sparo and Mercilli, as they travel across a strange world.

Plot[edit | edit source]

The Dangerous Duo, Sparo and Mercilli, find themselves trapped in an entirely different world, with no escape. After finding that the world has been destroyed by leader Lazeruli, Sparo and Mercilli go off on an adventure to restore peace to the world.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

SPARO's Pipeline features 6 distinct worlds, containing 3 side-scrolling platforming levels and a boss level, featuring a PIPE gimmick or a LADDER gimmick. In side-scrolling levels, Sparo or Mercilli must reach the end of the level whilst defeating strange foes and jumping over perilous pits.

In levels featuring a PIPE gimmick, Sparo and Mercilli must defeat creatures coming out of pipes, before encountering a boss that must be defeated using falling objects and throwing them through pipes towards the boss. Enemies can not be defeated by being stomped on, and must be flipped and kick off through punchable platforms.

In LADDER gimmicks, Sparo or Mercilli must vertically climb through the levels, grabbing collectables on the way towards the boss, where the pair can pick up falling objects and throw them at the boss. Enemies can be defeated by picking them up and throwing them at another enemy, as throwing them on the floor will leave them stunned before they flip over.

During side scrolling levels, Sparo and Mercilli can pick up power-ups, that give their weapon a unique power, either allowing to destroy bricks or defeat shelled enemies. Enemies are defeated by being stomped on, however shelled enemies retreat to their shell for a short period of time before they return out, however they can be kicked to defeat other enemies or grabbed and held on to.
