Jake's Super Smash Bros./Assist Characters

From Fantendo
Jump to navigationJump to search

In Jake's Super Smash Bros., players are able to call upon characters from a large variety of franchises to aid them in battle. Assist characters are characters that can be summoned from either the Assist Trophy or, in the case of Pokémon, the Poké Ball items. Just as with playable characters, there are some assists may be unlockable. Some third party series may be represented with an assist character despite not seeing any fighter or stage representatives, and only those that are from the same universe as a playable character must be unlocked.

Default Assist Characters[edit | edit source]

Chain Chomp Lakitu Birdo Waluigi Sherm Flurrie Whacka Kamek Attacky Sack Chunky Kong Lord Fredrik Pauline Mona Hammer-Bot D.D. Agitha Hero's Shade Tingle King Daphnes Moblin Red Leaf Metroid Mother Brain Resetti Kapp'n Bonkers Waddle Dee Taranza Prank Magnus Phosphora Eggplant Wizard Krystal Burrowing Snagret Celica Chrom Off the Hook Dillon Jill Lucas Isa Jo Isaac Barbara Qbby Snip and Clip Captain Rainbow Musashi Smick Devil Ice Hockey Player F-Type Dr. Wright Harry Cupid Kiryu Wesker Bomberman Kasumi Mama

Chain Chomp
Chain Chomp is a recurring enemy from the Super Mario series. These metallic orbs' most notable trait are their giant mouths, and they will often lunge towards Mario or Luigi in an attempt to bite them with their strong jaws. Chain Chomps are almost always chained to a small wooden post (hence their name), and it is by destroying this post that Mario and Luigi can free them in some titles; though most oftentimes they can only be defeated by running into them with a Starman. Interestingly, Chain Chomps bark like dogs, and can be comparable to the species in several other ways.

In Super Smash Bros., the Chain Chomp is a large ally that will appear chained to a post. Simply touching the Chain Chomp will damage a fighter (if they weren't the one to summon it). The Chain Chomp will often patrol its post for the short time it is on the stage, but will also lunge itself towards a fighter at random intervals, dealing an incredible amount of damage and knockback should a fighter be bitten by its lunge attack.

Lakitu
Lakitu is a recurring, albeit rare, enemy that appears in many Super Mario titles. A member of the Koopa Troop, Lakitu flies high above the ground in a small cloud, tossing Spiny Eggs down at Mario or Luigi when he sees them. Lakitu can be somewhat annoying foes, as, most of the time, they will follow Mario as he travels through a stage, only stopping for a short time once defeated; another will take its place shortly thereafter.

In Super Smash Bros., Lakitu flies around the top of the screen, throwing Spiny Eggs down onto the stage. The Spiny Eggs deal minor damage to those who are hit by them, and they turn into Spinies that walk around the stage once they hit the ground. The Spinies deal much more damage and knockback to those who touch the spikes on their shells. The Spinies are slow-moving and will eventually fall/walk off the stage, as they only move in one direction unless they hit a wall.

Birdo
Birdo is a recurring character in the Super Mario series, first appearing as a boss in Super Mario Bros. 2 and Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic before becoming a fairly-regular playable character in the Mario spin-off titles. Birdo is a strange type of dinosaur that seems to have some romantic relation to Yoshi. Her most notable feature is her cannon-like snout, from which she can fire eggs.

In Super Smash Bros., Birdo mimics her Super Mario Bros. 2 boss tactics by walking around and firing eggs at fighters. These eggs deal little damage though do stun foes. If attacked enough, Birdo will begin firing larger eggs that will travel through foes and deal much more damage to them.

Waluigi
Waluigi is to Wario as Luigi is to Mario. Wario's partner in crime and Luigi's rival, Waluigi has made many appearances within the various Super Mario spin-off titles. He initially debuted in Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, and has gained considerable popularity since. Waluigi is a strange fellow whose origins have never really been explored, making him a very mysterious character; this is pronounced with his unique, and odd, abilities: while also excelling in sports and performing attacks with his lanky legs, he is also capable of swimming through the air, spinning around at high speeds to transform himself into a tornado, teleporting in puffs of purple smoke, or summoning walls of thorny vines to keep away others.

In Super Smash Bros., Waluigi will run around with a tennis racket in hand. While he will primarily swing his racket to attack foes, he may also toss a Bob-omb in the air, and knock it in an arc with a swing. If he is attacked, he will also not hesitate to counter by performing a pirouette-esque kick.

Sherm
Sherm is an enemy that debuted in Super Mario Odyssey. Named after the United States' M4 Sherman tank used during World War II, Sherms are a powerful foe that appear in New Donk City once nighttime falls. As an enemy and while under the influence of Cappy and Mario's "Capture" ability, Sherms are capable of firing large shells from its cannon. Mario must Capture these foes in order to defeat the Mecha-Wiggler boss.

In Super Smash Bros., the Sherm assist trophy takes its Captured appearance from Super Mario Odyssey, meaning it sports Mario's cap and moustache that it would not normally. Like in Super Mario Odyssey, the Sherm will fire various shells forwards, which explode to deal massive damage and knockback. Sherm will travel across whatever platform it is spawned onto, turning around should it reach a ledge, and fire up to four shells in short intervals. Foes that touch the Sherm will also take minor damage and be stunned, though they will also be buried should it run into them.

Flurrie
Madame Flurrie is one of the seven partners to join Mario during the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Flurrie is a dignified wind spirit, who claims to be a retired actress (though she returns to that profession at the end of the game). Like the other female partners, Flurrie is charmed by Mario's heroism and courage, though Flurrie is the most open about her affections.

In Super Smash Bros., Flurrie attacks with her Gale Force attack from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Originally, this attack could be used to potentially blow multiple foes out of the battle, thus decreasing the amount of foes Mario and co. would need to face. In Super Smash Bros., Flurrie blows air in one direction to push away foes. This air does not deal any damage, and thus can even keep helpless foes from reaching a platform. Flurrie will blow air continuously for a few moments before disappearing.

Whacka
Whacka is an uncommon enemy from the Paper Mario series. While classified as "enemies", Whackas are defenceless creatures who do not actually attack Mario or his partners. Whackas are said to be on the verge of extinction, as hitting their heads causes a bump to form and to fall off; this bump - the Whacka Bump - is a rarity in the gourmet world, and goes for high prices in auctions.

In Super Smash Bros., Whacka will pop his head up before diving underground and popping his head up elsewhere on the same platform he had been summoned onto. Any fighter, not only the one that spawned him nor their opponents, can attack Whacka to have him drop a Whacka Bump, which heals 75% of the current damage percentage of the fighter that eats it. Whacka will pop his head out of the ground six times, but only drop up to two Whacka Bumps.

Kamek
Kamek is a recurring enemy from the Super Mario series who primarily makes notable appearances as the secondary antagonist of the Yoshi series. Kamek is a Magikoopa that acts as Bowser's right-hand man, and even appears to act as a nanny of sorts to the infant Koopa King. Though he looks like any other Magikoopa, Kamek seems to be of a higher rank than the others in the Koopa Troop, and also seems to posses more power than them.

In Super Smash Bros., similar to his Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island appearance, Kamek will fly to the top of the screen and wave his magic wand. He'll fly back and forth upon a broomstick a few times (slightly damaging those who touch him), raining down a magic dust upon all foes. This rainbow dust will cause all fighters to change in size, with some shrinking or growing.

Attacky Sack
Attacky Sack is a large colourful creature that appears as an enemy in Yoshi's Story. Solely appearing in the game's final world, Magma Castle, the Attacky Sack bounces off the ground and walls in an attempt to defeat Yoshi. Because of its large size, the Attacky Sack can not be harmed by Yoshi in any way.

In Super Smash Bros. the Attacky Sack acts the same way as in Yoshi's Story. When summoned, the rainbow creature will bounce off any solid platform, trying to flatten its opponents. While the Attacky Sack can not be damaged, attacks that deal a substantial amount of knockback will affect the Attacky Sack, meaning its path can be controlled to some degree.

Chunky Kong
Chunky Kong is one of the five playable characters in Donkey Kong 64, and can be played as once he is freed from the storage room of Frantic Factory by Lanky Kong. Chunky Kong is said to be the strongest member of the Kong family, but displays meek and cowardly traits that contrast his hulking frame. Like all of the other playable characters from Donkey Kong 64, Chunky is shown to both be proficient in playing an instrument, in his case the triangle. Chunky is also capable of using the deadly Pineapple Launcher, a long bazooka that Cranky can wield easily with only a single hand.

In Super Smash Bros. will quickly jump in from the background and slam down onto the spot where his Assist Trophy was broken open. Chunky Kong deals massive spike damage to those he hits while airborne, and he will also bury any fighters he happens to land upon. Once he crashes into the ground, a large amount of banana peels will fall from the sky and fall onto the stage, which will trip any fighter that walks over them (dealing only 1%) but can also be thrown around.

30px  Can not be defeated  30px
Lord Fredrik
Lord Fredrik is the main antagonist of the Wii U platforming game Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. On Donkey Kong's birthday, Lord Fredrik and the Snowmads he rules over took over Donkey Kong Island, in the process freezing the land and shooting the Kong family out of a cannon to another faraway island. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong eventually come to fight Lord Fredrik and reclaim their home by travelling to the peak of the now-frozen-over volcano where the Snowmads placed their ship.

In Super Smash Bros., Lord Fredrik himself does not physically enter the battle, instead appearing in the background of the stage. Three times, Lord Fredrik will blow his horn to summon a large ice dragon, which travels down from the top of the stage through to the bottom; where the ice dragon will fall is signalled by a few falling ice rocks and icicles that don't deal damage to foes. The ice dragon deals massive damage and spike/meteor smash knockback to those hit; foes can also be frozen if they come in contact with the dragon's head.

Pauline
Pauline is the damsel of distress of Donkey Kong. Formerly Mario's girlfriend, she would later go on to become the mayor of New Donk City, the city where the construction site where she was held hostage by a giant gorilla once stood.

In Super Smash Bros., Pauline appears in her 8-bit sprite form from Donkey Kong. Running back and forth, Pauline will deal damage to foes when they make contact with her. At times, she may also yell "HELP!" in a speech bubble above her head, dealing more damage and knockback to those who touch that.

Mona
Mona is one of Wario's friends in the WarioWare series, and one of the first employees of his microgame studio WarioWare, Inc., where she works as a programmer. Outside of her work as a programmer, Mona has held a number of different part-time jobs within Diamond City; somehow, even though she sometimes has radically different professions, her manager is almost always an anthropomorphic canine named Joe.

In Super Smash Bros., Mona will ride her scooter around the platform she is summoned onto. Her appearance as an assist is essentially as a slower, albeit more powerful, version of Wario's Wario Bike attack, and acts nearly-identically.

30px  Can be defeated  30px
Hammer-Bot
The Hammer-Bot is an enemy from Wario Land 3. A blue cubed robot that rides on treads and holds two large hammers, the Hammer-Bot can flatten Wario and transform him into Spring Wario. Wario Land 3 never specified who the creator of the Hammer-Bot was, but its likely that the same person also created the Spear-Bots, another enemy from that game that has been said to be a mass-produced robot that believes robotic organisms are superior to organic ones.

In Super Smash Bros., the Hammer-Bot rolls back and forth on the platform it was spawned onto, swinging its two hammers as it does. If hit by an attack, it will be temporarily stunned; if hit enough, it will collapse and disappear in a puff of smoke.

30px  Can be defeated  30px
D.D.
D.D., or Dangerous Duck, is an enemy that appears in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and Wario Land II. D.D. is a duck-like enemy that wields a boomerang, which it throws (after tapping it on the ground a few times) at Wario when he comes near. Level 5-3 of Wario Land II features stronger [magenta-coloured in the Game Boy Color remake] versions of D.D. known as the "Four Ducks".

In Super Smash Bros., D.D. will wander back and forth around the platform it is spawned on, and occasionally stop to throw its boomerang. If attacked while carrying its boomerang, D.D. can be stunned; if attacked while not carrying it, D.D. may miss the boomerang when it comes back towards it, and it will take a moment to pull another boomerang out of nowhere.

Agitha
Agitha is the self-proclaimed princess of bugs who lives in a small castle in Hyrule Castle Town during the events of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In Twilight Princess, she asks Link to bring her the 24 Golden Bugs she invited to her ball but "got lost on the way", rewarding him with Rupees, wallet upgrades, and, in Twilight Princess HD, a Miiverse stamp. Though a caring individual, she is also slightly delusional; she is one of the few Hyruleans not to be afraid of Wolf Link, asking him to play with her as if he were just a normal puppy.

In Super Smash Bros., Agitha performs a variety of attacks based on her Hyrule Warriors moveset. She will run around the stage, primarily attacking foes with her trademark parasol. She may also release a swarm of golden butterflies from her basket, that, while they don't deal much knockback to foes, can stun them and juggle them in place for a moment.

Hero's Shade
The Hero's Shade is a character who appears in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The Hero's Shade is the wandering spirit of The Hero of Time, who wishes to teach his skills down to his successor. He initially appears to Link as a golden wolf, and the Hero of Twilight must call to him by howling at special stones, before transforming into a ghostly knight to teach the young warrior his techniques.

In Super Smash Bros., the Hero's Shade will slowly wander around the stage and perform many of the same Hidden Skills he passes down to the Hero of Twilight. These techniques include Ending Blade (where he will jump onto an enemy and stab his sword into them, defeating them instantly should their damage percentage be over 100%), Shield Attack (which sees him thrust his shield forwards to knock away foes), Helm Splitter (where he will jump forwards, holding his sword out as he spins along the y-axis), Jump Strike (which sees him jump up before stabbing the ground to create a shockwave that deals minor damage to and trips nearby enemies), and the Great Spin (where he spins his sword around him as he moves forwards a fair distance). He will also transform into his golden wolf form to chase down faraway enemies, and can perform a jumping dive when in this form to deal minor damage.

Tingle
Tingle is one of the few recurring characters [who are not named Link, Zelda, or Ganon] to appear within The Legend of Zelda series. Tingle first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, where it was established that he was a 35 year-old man with such an obsession with fairies that he claims to be the reincarnation of one. In Majora's Mask and later The Wind Waker, Tingle was a cartographer who made maps while strapped to a red balloon.

In Super Smash Bros., Tingle will perform a short dance while chanting his unique [and odd] spell "Kooloo-Limpah!" After doing so, a red balloon will inflate on Tingle's back, carrying him up to the top of the stage, where he will float around and drop bombs of either a small or large size. The small bombs deal a significant amount of damage and knockback to those hit, while the larger ones deal much more knockback and damage while also having a larger explosion radius; the large bombs fall at a slower speed, and Tingle fumbles for a few moments before dropping one, and thus are easier to avoid. Tingle may also occasionally drop a Green Rupee, which does nothing. Fighters can touch the Green Rupee to hear the common sound effect that plays in most Zelda games when a Rupee is collected, though it will have no other effect.

King Daphnes
King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule was the king of Hyrule prior to the Era of the Great Sea, and the only remaining resident of Hyrule after the entire kingdom - barring the remains of Hyrule Castle - were flooded by the three Golden Goddesses.

In Super Smash Bros., King Daphnes attacks foes by transforming into his boat form- the King of Red Lions. As the King of Red Lions, Daphnes will travel on a wave in one direction, dealing damage as he travels forwards.

Moblin
Moblins are a race of goblin-like creatures and one of the most recurring foes in The Legend of Zelda series; the one that appears in Super Smash Bros. specifically takes its appearance from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In most games, they are one of the most common and basic enemies that appear around Hyrule, and almost always serve Ganon, who seems to be their creator. In Breath of the Wild, Moblins, while still fairly common, are a more challenging foe that tower over Link and most of his other foes.

In Super Smash Bros., the Moblin will wander around the stage and slowly swing its club to deal massive damage and knockback to those in the vicinity of its attack. It may also kick foes to deal significantly less damage and knockback.

Red
Red is the main playable character of Pokémon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow Versions, one of the two potential playable characters of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions, and a recurring non-playable character in several other Pokémon titles. In the games in which he serves as the protagonist, his actions are all determined by the player, though the story of those games sees him needing to stop Team Rocket while also fighting all eight Pokémon Gyms in order to face the Elite Four. As the playable character he is a mostly-silent character, speaking solely through predetermined options that the player can choose from; his non-playable appearances reference this by having him a silent character who speaks solely through ellipses.

In Super Smash Bros. Red will be summoned by the Assist Trophy and appear in the background of the stage. He will then throw a Master Ball out onto the stage, summoning any of the Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, or Ultra Beasts that can be summoned through the regular Poké Ball item.

SSB Pokémon Series.png

Leaf
Leaf is one of the two potential playable characters of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions and, under the name Green, a non-playable character in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eevee! Like all other playable characters, Leaf's FireRed and LeafGreen appearance allows her name to be changed by the player, and she has very little personality as her actions are almost-completely determined by the player. In the Let's Go! titles, Leaf is a rather silly character who wishes to catch Mewtwo; upon learning that the player has beaten her to this task, she then makes it her goal to "capture" them and make them her own Pokémon.

In Super Smash Bros. Leaf will appear in the stage's background once she is summoned via Assist Trophy. After a moment she will then throw out three Poké Balls around the stage, which can summon any of the same Pokémon that the Poké Ball item does. These Poké Balls act nearly-identically in every way to their item counterparts, with the exception being that opponents can not interact with the balls themselves and thus the Pokémon summoned will always ally with the player that summoned Leaf. Just like the Poké Ball items, there is a small chance that a Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, or Ultra Beast will be called from them.

Metroid
Metroids are an extinct species of creature hailing from SR388 and the the namesake of the Metroid series. Metroids were genetically engineered by the Chozo race in order to exterminate the deadly X Parasites, which are capable of shapeshifting into other beings and have the sole objective of killing and assimilating all of the universe's species. As such a Metroid feeds off the life energy of other creatures. The last-known natural-born Metroid, known as "Baby", hatched in the care of bounty hunter Samus Aran but was killed by Mother Brain after it gave much of its life energy to keep Samus safe.

In Super Smash Bros., the Metroid, or more specifically the Baby in its larval stage, will fly around the stage after being summoned, even through platforms. It will attempt to chase down a fighter and attempt to latch itself onto them, dealing damage over time and occasionally stunning their movements should it successfully do so. Fighters can damage the Metroid by attacking it while it flies about, but once it latches onto a foe it will remain stuck to them for a few moments before letting go again.

Mother Brain
Mother Brain is a major recurring antagonist in the Metroid series, being the main antagonist of Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid: Zero Mission while also technically being responsible for the events of Metroid: Other M. Mother Brain is a supercomputer created by the Chozo, unique in that she is actually a living entity with free will. She defected against the Chozo that created her when Space Pirates attacked them, believing that the attackers had the potential to assist her in bringing "true order" to the universe.

In Super Smash Bros., Mother Brain will appear on the stage in a giant capsule, surrounded by Rinka enemies. After a short moment, Mother Brain will shoot a short, but powerful, laser from her eye, mimicking one of her attacks from Super Metroid, and destroying the capsule she is trapped in. In addition to the laser dealing fair amounts of damage and knockback, touching any of the Rinkas will also deal slight damage to foes. The Rinkas will usually spin around Mother Brain, but will rush out of their designated paths towards fighters that get too close as well.

Resetti
Sonny Resetti is a mole that has appeared in every game of the Animal Crossing series. One of the two known employees of the Reset Surveillance Center (the other being his older brother Don), Resetti's job is to scold the player should they forget to save their game before quitting. Though he is loud and strict, Resetti is just very enthusiastic about his job; in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Resetti even reflects on his actions, stating that the player must hate him for his long-winded rants.

In Super Smash Bros., Resetti appears as the "useless" assist, comparable to Magikarp. What this means is that Resetti is not any help to the player that spawned him, or any player for that matter. When summoned, Resetti will begin ranting, with his words appearing in a large Animal Crossing-styled text box that floats at the top of the screen. This text box, while semi-transpaent, is located in the foreground, meaning that fighters can go behind it and be obscured by its text. He will include the names of the characters present in the battle in his rants, which will last for quite a while.

Kapp'n
Kapp'n is a kappa (turtle) that makes a notable appearance in every Animal Crossing title. Throughout the series Kapp'n provides transport for the player, manning a small boat in Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, a taxi in Animal Crossing: Wild World, and a schoolbus in Animal Crossing: City Folk. In City Folk, it is Kapp'n who takes the player to the titular city should they call for him at the Bus Stop.

In Super Smash Bros., Kapp'n is based on his appearance in Animal Crossing: City Folk. He will appear on the stage with his school bus before preceding to drive it towards the left or right blast lines (whichever he is further away from), trapping any foe he hits inside of the bus and carrying them away. Trapped players can escape from Kapp'n's bus by shaking the control stick, but doing so is a difficult task.

Bonkers
Bonkers is a gorilla-like creature and a recurring boss in the Kirby series. Kirby's battles against Bonkers often revolve around the large primate using his hammer to try and attack Kirby at close ranges, while knocking explosive coconuts at the pink puffball from afar to also deal damage; Kirby must use spit these coconuts back at Bonkers in order to defeat him.

In Super Smash Bros., Bonkers will quickly run and jump around the stage, swinging his large hammer as he does. Bonkers will swing his hammer horizontally most of the time, knocking foes away from him; though will also swing it downwards to bury foes or upwards to launch them sky-high. Bonkers' hammer deals massive knockback and a fair amount of damage, though his attacks are slower and he can be stunned by being attacked.

Waddle Dee
Waddle Dees are one of the most common, and weakest, enemies that have appeared in almost every Kirby game released to date. Throughout their many appearances, Waddle Dees have had a large variety of abilities, and have been seen wielding spears or parasols. In Super Smash Bros., the Waddle Dee that appears is the Walker Waddle Dee type from Kirby: Planet Robobot, which pilots a ground-based mech.

In Super Smash Bros., the Waddle Dee will wander around slowly in its mech, dealing damage to any of those in its way. It may also jump up into the air at times, and will land with a powerful stomp that buries those underneath him. At times, the Waddle Dee may also fire missiles from its mech, which will travel a fair distance before exploding to deal damage to foes.

Taranza
Taranza is the servant to Queen Sectonia and one of the main antagonists of Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Taranza is seemingly capable of possessing foes; he never fights Kirby ever during the events of Triple Deluxe, instead opting to control other enemies as a puppeteer.

In Super Smash Bros., Taranza teleports around the stage, throwing small orbs of energy around at nearby foes. Most of the time, he will throw one or two at a time, though, should he be attacked, will completely surround himself with these orbs of energy before propelling them off in every direction.

Prank
Prank is an enemy from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. As his name implies, Prank is a prankster who likes to play tricks on Kirby when he comes near him. While he doesn't grant a Copy Ability to Kirby when inhaled, some of Prank's pranks do.

In Super Smash Bros., Prank will run around the stage and do several things to aid his summoner. Wielding a broom, Prank will occasionally swing it around to damage his foes, and he may also throw banana peels and fireballs from a distance, the latter dealing the most amount of damage of any of his attacks.

Magnus
Magnus is one of the strongest human warriors, and a minor character in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Despite his relatively minor role in the game's story, Magnus is one of the only two characters in the game, alongside Dark Pit, to be an ally to Pit, a boss, and a playable character. Magnus first aids Pit in Dark Lord Gaol's castle, as he wishes to free her from the cursed armour she was forced into.

In Super Smash Bros., Magnus fights foes by attacking with his large club-like sword. His strikes are powerful and have long reach, though his swings and movements are fairly slow. As Magnus appears, he will taunt fighters by saying "Sorry I'm late. I had other business to attend to."

Phosphora
Phosphora is one of the commanders of the Forces of Nature that works under Viridi. Also known as Lightning Flash Phosphora, she is capable of creating and controlling electricity; her ability to control electricity also extends to her also being able to become a bolt of lightning to travel at high speeds. Despite being one of the highest-ranked members of the Forces of Nature, Phosphora has a very nonchalant attitude, and likes to toy with her opponents before, or during, their fights.

In Super Smash Bros., Phosphora will fly around the stage, summoning large orbs of blue electricity that she will shoot around the stage. These orbs deal damage and push foes along with them, disappearing as they hit platforms to let those they have trapped go. Like several other assists, Phosphora can be attacked to temporarily stun her. She will say a variety of quotes should she KO a foe, including: "Finishing blow!", "Watch your tone!", and "It's just one fight after another." When Phosphora is attacked, there is also a chance she will say "Today is not my day..."; when she is summoned, she will ask "Yes, you called?"

Eggplant Wizard
The Eggplant Wizard is one of the most well-known and recurring enemies from the Kid Icarus series. While it heavily resembles an eggplant in its own right, the Eggplant Wizard's main form of attack is that it transforms its foes into a large, walking eggplant for a limited time.

In Super Smash Bros., the Eggplant Wizard appears on the stage, before releasing a small purple pulse of energy out of its wand, turning those who are hit by them into walking eggplants that are only capable of running around. This lasts only for a short moment, and the Eggplant Wizard disappears once they have returned to their normal forms.

Krystal
Krystal is a vixen and a recurring character in the Star Fox series. Debuting in Star Fox Adventures, Krystal becomes trapped within (fitting her name) a large crystal by Andross while attempting to assist the natives of Sauria in returning the six Krazoa Spirits to the Krazoa Temple in order to heal the land of the damage General Scales and the SharpClaw army dealt to it. After being freed by Fox McCloud, Krystal eventually joins Team Star Fox, taking Peppy's place as the fourth fighter pilot, though primarily assisting the team by using her telepathy to sense for distress signals.

In Super Smash Bros., Krystal will run and jump around the stage, damaging fighters both with physical attacks with her staff and by shooting out energy-based projectiles from the same weapon. Some of these projectiles have the power to freeze fighters should they be hit by too many in a row.

Burrowing Snagret
The Burrowing Snagret is a recurring enemy character featured within the Pikmin series of games. A member of the Snavian family of animals native to PNF-404 Burrowing Snagrets have blue scales that cover most of their bodies, protecting them from almost every form of attack. These creatures live underground and poke their heads out of the earth when they sense prey approaching, hiding their single small and bird-like foot away.

In Super Smash Bros., the Burrowing Snagret will pop out of the ground and peck wildly in the direction of the nearest foe. After pecking, it will retreat away before popping up somewhere else; humorously, it can even appear on semi-soft platforms or other platforms unconnected from the one it was summoned on.

Celica
Celica is the 17 year-old main female protagonist of Fire Emblem Gaiden (and its 2017 remake, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia). Celica is in actuality Princess Anthiese, the daughter of King Lima IV of the kingdom of Zofia; though she is unaware of her past, as she was raised by a man named Mycen after being rescued from a fire that destroyed the royal villa where she previously lived.

In Super Smash Bros., Celica performs Ragnarok, the strongest black magic attack in Fire Emblem Gaiden, though the attack seldom resembles its Fire Emblem counterpart. Celica's sword will be encased with flames, and she will swing it to unleash a crescent-shaped projectile of fire. After travelling a short distance, or should it hit a foe, it will explode into a whirlpool of fire, dragging those who are nearby in to the vortex and dealing damage to them as they remain trapped within it. She will perform this twice before disappearing, though may also strike with her sword at foes that try to get too close to her.

Chrom
Chrom is the prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, and the leader of a militia known as the Shepherds, comprised originally of Ylissean citizens and later any fighter that Chrom deems worthy of his trust. A descendant of the Hero-King Marth and the father of Lucina, Chrom serves as the main male protagonist of Fire Emblem Awakening. In the ruined future in which Lucina was born, Chrom was killed by Grima, which led to each of the original Shepherds also being tracked down and killed; forcing Lucina and the children of the Shepherds to travel back in time in order to warn them of the upcoming danger.

In Super Smash Bros., Chrom performs the Aether skill. Chrom's version of Aether more closely resembles the version from the Fire Emblem series than Lucina's. Chrom will throw his Falchion up into the air, before slamming down and rushing forwards as set distance to strike any nearby foes. He will also attack foes with basic sword swings.

Off the Hook
Off the Hook is a pop idol duo consisting of Pearl and Marina. Sometime within the two year gap between Splatoon and Splatoon 2, Off the Hook was formed and became the most popular music sensation in Inkopolis. In Splatoon 2, these two girls take over the Squid Sisters' duties from the first game, appearing on a news program to announce the stages currently in rotation and information regarding upcoming/current Splatfests. They are well known for their catchphrase "Don't get cooked... stay Off the Hook!", which they say when signing off their program.

In Super Smash Bros., Pearl and Marina will perform their song "Ebb and Flow" as a spotlight shines down upon them. Any opponent who stands near them will be forced to taunt repetitively, making them easy targets for the one who summoned them.

Dillon
Dillon is the silent main protagonist of the Dillon's Rolling Western series of action-tower defence games. An outlaw also known as The Red Flash, Dillon works to accumulate cash by defending the townsfolk and their cattle from rock-like creatures known as Grocks.

In Super Smash Bros., Dillon attacks foes by performing a spinning rush attack not unlike Sonic the Hedgehog's signature Spin Attack technique. Dillon will bounce around the stage, flying through semi-soft platforms, as he spins around, and deal quite a fair bit of damage and knockback to the people he hits. He is, however, vulnerable whenever he stops attacking, and will stand on the stage for a short moment before resuming his assistance.

Jill
Jill is the main protagonist of the 2005 Game Boy Advance platformer title Drill Dozer. After her father Doug is injured, Jill takes command of a group of thieves that protect a red diamond known as the Red Dozers. While "thieves" by nature, the Red Dozers are a righteous bunch that aim only to protect the Red Diamond, which has been said to be able to grant any wish. After it is stolen by a rival gang - the Skulkers - Jill pilots the Drill Dozer in order to retrieve it.

In Super Smash Bros., Jill once again rides in the Drill Dozer. Appearing on stage, she pilots it around, and will occasionally jump (not too high) to reach other platforms. The drill on the Drill Dozer deals consecutive hits to those she runs into, dealing a considerable amount of damage (though little knockback) to foes in the process.

Lucas
Lucas is one of the four playable characters, and the main protagonist, of the 2006 Japan-exclusive title Mother 3. Lucas hails from the small rustic Tazmily Village, located in the Nowhere Islands, where he lives alongside his dog Boney, father Flint, mother Hinawa, and twin brother Claus. Prior to the events of Mother 3, Lucas is described as the complete opposite of the determined and courageous Claus, being very weak-willed and emotional. In battle, he is capable of wielding sticks and baseball bats, though his most powerful ability comes in the form of the PSI power that only he and his brother can use: PK Love.

In Super Smash Bros., Lucas uses PK Love to attack foes. In Mother 3, the attack would appear as a series of white triangles that would come in from the left and right sides of the screen to strike a foe. In Super Smash Bros., this attack appears as a series of pink misty triangles that, similarly, cross through the screen and to wherever Lucas was summoned. The attack, while it hits the entire stage, does not deal any knockback, though does stun and damage the foes it hits.

Isa Jo
Isa Jo is the main protagonist of the 2009 Wii rail shooter title Sin & Punishment: Star Successor. Isa is the son of Saki Amamiya, the protagonist of the original Sin & Punishment, who was raised under watch of the Creators to defend the Inner Space that they rule from the inhabitants of Outer Space that try to infiltrate. He is later exiled and sent on the run after he teams up with an amnesiac Outer Space girl - named Kachi - who he denotes as harmless after being sent by the Creators' army (the Nebulox) to kill her.

In Super Smash Bros., Isa Jo attacks by running around and attacking with his two energy blasters that also have the ability to harness energy into a whip-like weapon. Isa's energy shots do not cause fighters to flinch, though the whip attacks deal massive knockback to foes at the cost of little damage.

Isaac
Isaac is the main playable protagonist of the first title in the Golden Sun series, and is considered the series' main protagonist. Isaac is a Venus Adept, that being a person capable of using Psynergy of the Earth element. He, alongside his two childhood friends Jenna and Garet, are commanded by The Wise One to defeat those who destroyed the seal of Alchemy, and save the land of Weyard from the chaos that this action could spread.

In Super Smash Bros., Isaac uses the Utility Psynergy known as Move, which is one that he acquires at the beginning of the first Golden Sun title. This move summons a large white hand that moves forwards quite a far distance, pushing (but not dealing any damage to) the fighters it runs into. Due to this "attack" not dealing any actual damage, Isaac's Move Psynergy is capable of pushing even invincible foes off ledges. He may also use the Psynergy move called Grab, which, aptly, sees him summon a giant fist to grab his foes and throw them around or slam them into the ground.

Barbara
Barbara the Bat is a guitarist and the manager of the GB Music store in the Jam with the Band series. An anthropomorphic bat, she has a very arrogant attitude, and is known to work her employees hard while pampering herself. She has a little brother named Tingtin, whom she likes to toy with at times. Barbara also appears as the host of Master of Illusion, a game that teaches players how to perform magic tricks.

In Super Smash Bros., Barbara will strum on her guitar to create shockwaves that circle her, damaging and knocking away those who touch them. Every so often, she will play a louder, harsher chord, which creates a larger soundwave than the others.

Qbby
Qbby is the main protagonist of HAL Laboratory's BOXBOY! series. Qbby is a small white cube-like creature whose sole defining features are his small black eyes. Qbby has the power to spawn boxes from himself, which he can use to traverse areas he may otherwise be unable to.

In Super Smash Bros., Qbby doesn't actively try to attack foes, instead creating boxes that can be used as platforms by other players. The only time Qbby can KO a foe is as he is leaving the stage, as he activates the Box Rocket ability to fly up off the top of the screen, carrying anyone standing on his boxes with him.

Snip and Clip
Snip and Clip are the two main playable characters of Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together!, a puzzle game developed by SFB Games for the Nintendo Switch. Snip and Clip are two papercraft creatures capable of snipping pieces off of each other and rotating their bodies around, and it is through the use of these abilities that they can work together to solve puzzles.

In Super Smash Bros. both Snip and Clip both appear together as one Assist Trophy character. They act as platforms (or walls), and will wander about aimlessly. Snip and Clip will, as they move around, rotate their bodies or snip pieces off of each other. Additionally, fighters can attack them to knock them around the stage, and, should one fall off the stage, the other will disappear.

Captain Rainbow
Captain Rainbow is the superhero alter ego of a normal man named Nick, and the main protagonist of the Wii adventure game Captain Rainbow. Nick, as Captain Rainbow, is the star of a television series that was once fairly popular but now getting only a fraction of the viewers it once had. Hoping to become famous once more, Nick sets off for Minmin Island, which is said to have the power to grant wishes.

In Super Smash Bros. Captain Rainbow will jump around the stage and use his yo-yo to attack fighters. Captain Rainbow's yo-yo has unique hit effects, producing comical splash marks with the words "POW" and "BANG" inscribed in them, mimicking the more comic book aesthetic of his game of origin.

Musashi
Musashi is the playable protagonist of the 2018 Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch game Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. Musashi is a member of the Sushi Liberation Front, whose goal is to take down the empire that had banned sushi after a series of wars known as the Sushi Struggles. In Sushi Striker the player can choose to play as either a male or female Musashi, though only the male appears in Super Smash Bros.

In Super Smash Bros., Musashi jumps around the stage throwing small plates as if they were Frisbees. He throws three at a time, and, while fairly weak projectiles, they can fly extremely far distances. Additionally, some of the plates Musashi throws out may contain pieces of sushi which can be eaten off the ground to restore HP once the plate shatters.

Smick
Smick is a bug that appears in Gyromite, one of the games that used the Robotic Operating Buddy. In that game, Smicks would patrol Professor Hector's laboratory in a manner similar to, albeit slower than, Professors Hector and Vector.

In Super Smash Bros., Smick bounces back and forth on whatever platform it is spawned on, damaging those that touch it. It is more like a nuisance than an actual threat to its summoner's opponents.

Devil
The Devil is the main antagonist of Devil World. In almost all of the game's levels, the Devil appears at the top of the screen. pointing in various directions to move the walls of the maze that the little yellow Tamagon must travel through in order to get clear it.

In Super Smash Bros. the Devil acts in much the same way, pointing in different directions in order to move the screen either up, left, to the right, or to the left. In addition to making certain parts of the stage inaccessible, it also adjusts the stage's KO boundaries. While the Devil can be attacked, he can not be truly defeated, though attacking him enough will cause him to get angry and cause the screen's movements to quicken.

30px  Can not be defeated  30px
Ice Hockey Player
The Ice Hockey Player is, as his name implies, one of the playable characters in the NES game Ice Hockey. Three hockey players (a lanky man, an obese man, and, the one that appears in Super Smash Bros., a stout man) make up the teams that are present in the game; the teams available differ depending on the game's version - all regions share the United States, Czechoslovakia, Canada, Poland, and the Soviet Union, while the Japanese version has Japan as well, the PAL release has Portugal and Sweden, and the North American version has only Sweden.

In Super Smash Bros. the Ice Hockey player skates around the stage, firing pucks at foes. Both the puck and the player's hockey stick deal damage to foes, with the latter dealing a significant amount more than the small projectile. When the Ice Hockey player turns around, he will kick up a small bit of ice that also deals minor damage to foes.

F-Type
F-Type is one of the five vehicles that can be chosen by the player in Stunt Race FX. The F-Type is an anthropomorphic red and white Formula One car. Despite being the game's mascot, appearing to be winning the race portrayed on the box art for Stunt Race FX, F-Type ties with the two-wheeled 2WD for having the highest top speed, and is also one of the fastest cars to accelerate. In exchange for its high mobility, F-Type is one of the weakest cars in the game, however, and can only sustain a small amount of damage before being defeated.

In Super Smash Bros. F-Type will quickly rush from one side of the screen to the other multiple times, dealing massive damage to all those in its path. Due to its fairly small size, F-Type is fairly easy to dodge, though does create a backdraft as it moves that can carry nearby foes along with it.

Dr. Wright
Dr. Wright is one of the few actual characters to appear in the SNES title SimCity. The player's advisor, he gives the mayor tips on how to help their city grow while also explaining the various natural disasters that may happen.

Harry
Harry is a Telerobotnic and the player's fighter in the Virtual Boy fighter Teleroboxer. Harry, like all Telerobotnics, was initially designed to assist humans in performing tasks they may be unable to perform. Dr. Edward Maki Jr., to promote the Telerobotnic technology, began a boxing championship to show off the Telerobotnic's durability and strength.

In Super Smash Bros., Harry, the large fighting robot, fights with a number of punch attacks. Harry will also perform a flurry of punches on jumping opponents, or try and stomp on his opponents to bury them. The human avatar that appears in the intro of Teleroboxer appears alongside Harry in the background of the stage, but has no bearing on the gameplay and merely controls the robot's movements.

Cupid
Cupid is the sole playable character of the Japan-only life simulator Sennen Kazoku. As ordered by God, Cupid must watch over a family and ensure their continued existence through generations. While folklore primarily details Cupid as being a messenger of love, the Cupid of Sennen Kazoku has a number of different arrows that can influence a wide range of emotions.

In Super Smash Bros. Cupid flies around the stage and fires arrows at all opponents. Though these arrows would cause those hit by them to undergo an emotional change in Sennen Kazoku, they merely deal damage in Super Smash Bros. and deal very little knockback on their own.

Kiryu
Kazuma Kiryu is the main protagonist of the Yakuza series, and serves as the sole playable character in most of the series' titles. Kiryu, known among other Yakuza primarily by the nickname of "The Dragon of Dojima", is a high-ranking member of the Dojima Family of Yakuza which itself is a subsidiary of the Tojo Clan. Despite turning to a life of crime at a young age, Kiryu is a righteous man with a strict code of honour - such code prohibits murder and excessive violence.

In Super Smash Bros., Kiryu attacks foes using a number of different physical attacks all of which are taken from his "Brawler" attack style that he uses in Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. Kiryu's punches and kicks are, for the most part, fairly quick, and they can deal a lot of damage quickly. Another technique, taken from his Dragon of Dojima fighting style, has Kiryu grabbing fighters before throwing them away harshly, launching them a fair distance.

Wesker
Albert Wesker is a recurring character in the Resident Evil series; originally debuting as a supporting character in the series' first game he would later appear in multiple other games before taking the role of main antagonist of Resident Evil 5. Albert Wesker is a man who appears to be very intelligent who harbours a deep hunger for power. Believing humanity to have reached an evolutionary dead-end, Wesker's main goal is to augment humans with superpowers and become a god among the "next generation" of human beings.

In Super Smash Bros., Wesker takes heavy advantage of the Prototype Virus he had injected within himself to give him superpowers. Wesker primarily travels around the stage at a high speed, homing in on a single enemy and performing up-close melee attacks on them. Though many of his attacks deal great damage, only one, a sweeping kick, actually deals enough knockback to potentially KO fighters.

Bomberman
Bomberman, or White Bomberman, is the mascot character and main protagonist of Konami's Bomberman franchise. Bomberman's origins have been changed over his many appearances, though his ability to spontaneously spawn large bombs has always been prevalent. He has a fierce rivalry with Black Bomberman, though the two are still the best of friends.

In Super Smash Bros., Bomberman runs around the stage and summons bombs behind him as he runs. Like in the top-down grid-based Bomberman titles, the bombs explode into large cross shapes. Bomberman may also hop into the air and throw a larger bomb beneath him, which creates a much larger explosion when it detonates.

Kasumi
Kasumi is one of the most recurring fighters in Dead or Alive, and serves as the series' mascot character. Kasumi was destined to become the 18th Master of the Mugen Tenshin clan of ninjas after her brother Hayate was supposedly killed by her uncle, the power-hungry Raidou, though fled the clan and entered the first Dead or Alive contest in order to get revenge. After winning the first Dead or Alive tournament she was abducted by the Dead or Alive Tournament Executive Committee, who used her genes in the Super Human Development Project to create superhuman clones of her.

In Super Smash Bros. Kasumi fights using a number of different techniques from her Dead or Alive appearances. Despite her aesthetic design being based off her appearance in Dead or Alive 6 Kasumi's moves are primarily taken from Dead or Alive 5 Last Round.

Mama
Mama is the titular mascot character of the Cooking Mama franchise, a series of simulation video games developed by Cooking Mama Limited. Cooking Mama is a cheerful woman with a passion for cooking, and wishes to teach others the same joys she feels while preparing food. While cooking is her specialty, Mama also has knowledge of a multitude of different subjects, which she often uses to teach her husband Papa and her children Ringo and Ichigo.

When Mama is summoned from an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros., she performs a single action: she claps her hands together three times. After doing so, food will continually spawn from where Mama stands and be thrown by an invisible force around the stage. She will remain on stage, clapping every few moments, for a short while before disappearing.

In Super Smash Bros., Pom Pom fights for her summoner by throwing pink shurikens at her foes. Much like in Super Mario 3D World Pom Pom will teleport around the stage in a pink puff of smoke. Before disappearing, Pom Pom will create two clones of herself, and throw a flurry of shurikens in three directions.

Ghirahim lords over the land below Skyloft, the land that would come to be known as Hyrule, and presents himself as flamboyant and calm.

In Super Smash Bros., Ghirahim attacks foes by teleporting around the stage and slashing quickly with his sword. Ghirahim can also summon small knives, which he will propel forwards at distant opponents.

Moon
The Moon is a celestial body that orbits the planet on which the lands of Hyrule and Termina are located. During the events of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, the Skull Kid, under the influence of the demon Majora, pulls the Moon from its place in the sky, and claims that it will crash and destroy the land of Termina in three days time. The Moon has a creepy face embedded in it as a result of Majora's influence, as the ancient beast is fought inside of the hollow Moon.

In Super Smash Bros., the Moon initially appears and takes its rightful place up in the sky. After a second, the Moon will begin to descend towards the stage, eventually becoming engulfed in flames as it gets closer to the stage. When it does enter the area, all those that are hit by it take massive damage and knockback, and the Moon will explode after coming to a stop in the centre of the battlefield.

Dead Hand
Dead Hand is an undead creature fought as a mini-boss in two different instances during The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, first appearing at the Bottom of the Well dungeon in Kakariko Village, and later in the Shadow Temple. This zombie-like creature can summon large white hands from the ground to trap Link, or bite the Hero of Time with its large jaw.

In Super Smash Bros., Dead Hand will remain in place, instead summoning two hands on either sides of itself. These two hands will grab any foe that comes near them, and, once in their grasp, deal damage by clenching its fist, though fighters can escape by shaking the control stick. Once a fighter has been caught in its grasp, Dead Hand will slowly move towards the hand, ready to bite the foe to deal massive knockback to launch them away.

Pichu Posse
The Pichu Posse is a group of Pokémon friends led by the Pichu Brothers that have fun together in the large metropolis of Big Town. The Pichu Bros. live in a fort built out of tires, which was once destroyed by the Houndour the Pichu Posse often cause trouble for in their escapades.

In Super Smash Bros., the Pichu Bros. will appear out of the Assist Trophy and high-five each other. This will call the rest of the Pichu Posse (Azumarill, Azurill, Magby, Smoochum, Teddiursa, Wooper, Smeargle, and three members of the Squirtle Squad) to them, who deal damage to the foes that may touch them. After they all meet at the Pichu Brothers' location, Houndour will chase the group off one side of the screen (with all of the Pokémon dealing damage to foes they make contact with), turning around and dodging Houndour should they hit a wall. If they are unable to exit the stage via a blast line after a long-enough time has passed, the group will simply disappear.

Sylux
Sylux is a recurring antagonist in the Metroid franchise, primarily appearing throughout the Metroid Prime series after his debut in Metroid Prime Hunters. Little is actually known about Sylux's past, though he harbours a strong hatred for the Galactic Federation and managed to steal a large amount of weapons and gear from them.

In Super Smash Bros., Sylux uses the Shock Coil weapon he is almost always seen wielding within his appearances. This weapon fires a concentrated beam of energy forwards for a short time. Sylux will jump around the stage and fire his Shock Coil at a nearby foe, which deals damage to them as they are hit by it but does not cause foes to flinch. Sylux can also transform into his Lockjaw form and dash forwards, dropping three bombs that create small, but fairly powerful, electric explosions once they detonate; Sylux also deals massive damage and knockback to those he runs into while in the Lockjaw form.

Shinobu is the player's apprentice, and fires the player out of the Cannon of Justice when an army of monster appears to threaten the home of their clan.

In Super Smash Bros., Shinobu will spawn onto the stage and initially do nothing. Once a fighter wanders near her however, she will trap them within the Cannon of Justice before launching them far away and dealing a fair amount of damage to them in the process. Though the attack is powerful, Shinobu will disappear should no one get close to her for the few seconds she'll wait.

The Arcade Bunny is an anthropomorphic rabbit that runs the now-defunct Nintendo 3DS application, the Nintendo Badge Arcade. The Arcade Bunny's lifelong goal was to work in an arcade, and lives out his dream by explaining the various badges that appear in the badge arcade's claw machine games.

In Super Smash Bros., the Arcade Bunny summons a giant claw, which will try and pick up fighters to pull them off the top of the screen. A screen is displayed on the front of the claw displaying a number, which depletes by one every time the claw attempts to grab a fighter. Once the number drops from 3 to 0, the Arcade Bunny and his claw will disappear. The Arcade Bunny will emote appropriately to whether the claw misses or successfully grabs a foe.

Dr. Kawashima
Dr. Ryuta Kawashima is a real-world neuroscientist whose research serves as the basis for Nintendo's Brain Age series, in which he makes frequent appearances as a large polygonal head. Dr. Kawashima was born on May 23, 1959 in Chiba City, Japan. He graduated from Tohoku University with an M.D. degree in the field of medicine and sufficient training in neurophysiology. His research primarily revolves around the development of the brain's learning facilities, and wishes to assist people in recovering said facilities should they be damaged due to outside activity or aging.

In Super Smash Bros., Dr. Kawashima appears in his form from Brain Age: a large polygonal head alongside two hands that float alongside his body. After being summoned, Kawashima will summon numbers in small white bubbles, which travel onto the screen from one of the four sides and travel in straight lines. Should two of these bubbles touch each other they will add together their numbers cause an explosion; the explosion is larger should the sum equal 10. Kawashima can be attacked, and uniquely will alter his "attack" should he suffer enough damage: transforming into his devilish counterpart from Brain Age: Concentration Training he will summon only crimson-coloured bubbles with the number 5 in them, thus causing large explosions no matter which two bubbles hit each other. The numbers can also be attacked to change the direction and speed at which they travel.

When Kawashima spawns on the stage, a small fanfare from the Brain Age series will play.

Bowser
Bowser is the main antagonist of the Super Mario series, who makes a cameo appearance in the SNES title SimCity that was developed by Nintendo. In that game, Bowser is one of the natural disasters that may occur randomly within the player's city, trampling buildings and breathing fire to destroy buildins in a manner similar to the Godzilla-like monster that appeared in previous SimCity titles.

In Super Smash Bros., the Bowser specifically from SimCity appears as an assist. Unlike in SimCity, when he was shown to be incredibly large, the one in Super Smash Bros. instead appears as a small little toy that resembles Bowser's sprite from this game. He will roll around whatever platform he is spawned onto, damaging fighters that he runs into, and also occasionally stopping to breathe streams of fire.

Volleyball Player
The Volleyball Player is, as their name implies, a player of the sport known as volleyball, and thus one of the main playable characters of the Nintendo Entertainment System sports title Volleyball, which sought to emulate the sport at hand. Unfortunately, the 1986 title was reviewed somewhat negatively, with the controls and lack of distinction between the character the player controls and where the volleyball currently is being the main criticisms towards the title. Unlike most other assist characters, there are several different aesthetic versions of the Volleyball Player, with any of the male or female players from the original title capable of appearing; they all act identically.

In Super Smash Bros., the Volleyball Player will run around the stage, dealing damage with a volleyball. While their basic attack simply sees them bump the ball forwards in an arc, which rebounds off foes to deal massive knockback but mediocre damage. Occasionally, the Volleyball Player may jump into the air and spike their volleyball downwards to deal massive damage and either meteor smash or bury foes depending on whether they are airborne or grounded at the time.

Ray Mk III
Ray Mk III is the third legal Ray series robot that appears chronologically in the Custom Robo series. This Ray model was, unlike its predecessors, developed by NeoBrain, specifically by a team headed up by the father of the main protagonist of Custom Robo Arena. The main protagonist's father gifts them this new model in exchange for their Ray Mk II, and it becomes their partner throughout a majority of the game.

In Super Smash Bros., Ray Mk III flies about the stage firing its laser and shooting a larger green blast from its arm cannon to deal damage to his enemies.

He is the seventh heir to the Alberian throne, and lives with his twin sister Zethia and a fairy the two met as children named Notte. The prince's mother died when he was young, but he is known throughout the land for his courage and his unwavering smile, and remembers her fondly.

In Super Smash Bros., the Dragonblood Prince attacks foes with his sword, occasionally using the special attack Blazing Circlet to deal damage with a flaming spin attack. He can be defeated in this form, but right before he leaves he will transform into the wind dragon Midgardsormr and unleash a Tail Tornado attack, creating a large tornado of green energy around him to deal massive damage to nearby foes.

Zip
Zip is a native of Suthon Island and the main playable character of FlingSmash. Throughout the events of the game, Zip and his friend from Eesturn Island, Pip, travel around Suthon Island in order to locate the sacred pearls that, according to legend, have the power to repel evil, and thus would assist in curing the island's plight after a being named Omminus withers the palm tree that protects the island on his quest to take over the world.

In Super Smash Bros., Zip bounces around the screen at a high speed, ricocheting off any platforms as well as the borders of the screen. Zip's speed and direction can be slightly adjusted by attacking him with projectiles, though otherwise he will travel around in a random way. Zip deals major damage to those he hits, as well as massive knockback to foes. After a while Zip will end up just travelling off the screen instead of bouncing off it as he normally would.

Satebô
Satebô is one of the mascots for Nintendo's Satellaview, a peripheral for the Super Famicom that could be used to download games via the WOWOW satellite TV station. Alongside Parabô (an anthropomorphic parabolic satellite dish), Satebô was used in a variety of different ways, both as part of Satellaview titles and to advertise the peripheral itself.

In Super Smash Bros., Satebô flies around the stage, dealing damage to all those who come in contact with his spinning, wing-like appendages.

Big
Big the Cat is a large feline character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, first making an appearance as the central character of one of the six stories in Sonic Adventure. Though intimidating in appearance and tall in stature, Big is a fairly gentle and kind individual who also seems to be lacking in intelligence when compared to the other characters. In Sonic Adventure, Big gets involved with Chaos after his best friend, a frog named Froggy, disappears.

In Super Smash Bros., Big the Cat appears as a weak assist character. He will appear on stage and chase after Froggy, who will hop around the various platforms. Simply coming in contact with Big (or Froggy) will deal damage to foes. He will also call out to Froggy as he chases him around, occasionally saying "Froggy!", "I'm coming!", or "Wait for me, Froggy!" as he does.

Twin Wardens
Caroline and Justine, collectively known as the Twin Wardens, are the two assistants to Igor that reside within Akira Kurusu's Velvet Room. As their title implies, Caroline and Justine are the wardens of the prison-like room that Joker inhabits, with their master carrying the title of "Prison Master". In Persona 5, they aid Joker by fusing and itemizing Personas, summoning Personas, or allowing a Persona to gain strength by locking them away temporarily.

In Super Smash Bros., Caroline and Justine work together to deal damage. They perform a single attack: Caroline will rush towards a nearby fighter and shock them with her electrified baton, while Justine will summon their Persona - Ardha - to launch them away with Psiodyne. As they do so, they will yell out various things: Caroline may yell out "Don't get cocky, Inmate!", "You're finished!", "Justine!", or "Ready!?"; Justine will call out "Persona!", "Psiodyne!", "Caroline!", or "Now!".

The Prince
The Prince of All Cosmos is the main silent protagonist of the Katamari Damacy series of action games. He is the brilliant son of the King of All Cosmos and his wife the Queen of All Cosmos, as is often tasked by them to collect objects using a large bumpy sphere known as a Katamari. His father often bosses The Prince around, though the latter does not mind at all and puts his all into any task he is given. These tasks usually revolve around The Prince using a Katamari to collect objects in order to create a star or planet that has gone missing (often due to his father's drunken bursts).

In Super Smash Bros., The Prince is a relatively useless assist in that he doesn't actually deal a lot of damage to foes. When he appears on the stage, The Prince will begin to push a Katamari forwards, and will continue to do so until he either hits a wall (at which point he will turn around), or wanders off the stage. The Katamari deals little damage to foes, but those who are bowled over will be trapped in the rolling movement and take considerable amount of damage as The Prince moves around. Additionally, The Prince's Katamari will pick up any item that is laying on the ground, making it unusable; this will cause the Katamari to grow in size slightly.

Zero
Zero is the deutragonist of the Mega Man X series. A robot designed by Dr. Albert Wily, Zero originally had a programming bug that gave him a psychotic and destructive personality, which forced his creator to seal him away in a capsule where he'd remain for decades. After being awakened, Zero would protect Wily's lab from any intruders, causing him to be labelled a threat to humanity ("Maverick") and eventually causing him to be infected by the Maverick Virus.

In Super Smash Bros., Zero aids fighters by attacking foes with a sword of light known as the Z-Saber. Zero will perform a variety of different slashes with them, and often attempt to knock enemies upwards.

Franziska
Franziska von Karma is the daughter of Manfred von Karma, and, like her father, is a very talented prosecutor; she has been said to be a protege in the field, and has even worked alongside Interpol despite being only 18 years old. A formidable adversary to defence attorney Phoenix Wright, Franziska sees herself as superior to most others, often referring to others as "fools". She is also feared by the police force, other prosecutors, and defence attorneys, as she is never seen without a whip, and will not hesitate to attack others with it.

In Super Smash Bros., Franziska attacks foes with her long whip. After appearing on stage, she will begin to slowly walk around, whipping foes when either she gets near them or they get near her. Her whip has long range, and the tip deals the most damage and knockback to foes. She may occasionally yell "Objection!" should she manage to actually hit a foe. She will perform an elegant bow before disappearing from the battle.

Kid Dracula
Kid Dracula is the main protagonist of the Castlevania spin-off titles Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun and its Game Boy release Kid Dracula. Kid Dracula is, despite his young appearance, a 10,009 year-old vampire, and the son of Dracula - this seemingly makes him a parody of Dracula's son Alucard. After Kid Dracula wakes up from a long, deep slumber, he learns that a dinosaur-like creature named Galamoth has challenged him, and he travels to face off against his new rival.

In Super Smash Bros., Kid Dracula appears on the stage and will attack opponents with a variety of spells from his title of origin. The spells that Kid Dracula can attack with in Smash Bros. are Fireball, Homing Fireball, and Bat Attack. Fireball and Homing Fireball act similarly, seeing Kid Dracula summoning fireball projectiles that explode upon hitting foes, though the former is larger and thus deals more damage than the latter. Bat Attack sees Kid Dracula reveal his cape, releasing a swarm of bats around him that deal a minimal amount of damage but do cause opponents to flinch. Kid Dracula will also transform into a bat to travel around the stage.

Creeper
Creepers are a type of hostile mob that appears in the sandbox survival title Minecraft. The Creeper is one of the most recognizable aspects of the game, primarily due to them being one of the most feared enemies that can spawn in the Overworld. Creepers are capable of self destructing to damage the world around it and obliterate players that are too close to them. The basic shape of the Creeper is based on a failed version of a Pig's model, while its green texture has been described as having "crunchy" feeling akin to dried leaves. When struck by lightning, a Creeper will transform into a Charged Creeper, igniting in an even larger explosion than normally.

When spawned, the Creeper will slowly wander towards the fighter currently winning; if the fighter that summoned it is leading, it will instead chase after second place. Once it gets close enough to them, the Creeper will stand still and slowly charge up before exploding, creating a massive explosion that deals massive damage and knockback. The amount of knockback and damage taken increases the closer a fighter is to the Creeper when it explodes.

Pirabbid Plant
The Pirabbid Plant is a boss that originates from Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and is the result of a Rabbid and a Piranha Plant having been accidentally fused together via Spawny and the SupaMerge he wears. A powerful enemy fought by Mario, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Luigi, the Pirabbid Plant additionally teams up with several other rogue Rabbids that had already been in the vicinity prior to its creation.

In Super Smash Bros., the Pirabbid Plant will slowly wander around the stage, and occasionally swing the small wand he holds to deal minor damage. His most prominent attack is that he will use one of his many vines to snatch foes, picking them up before throwing them into the ground to launch them upwards with tremendous strength.

Naotora
Naotora Ii is a character from Koei Tecmo's Samurai Warriors series. Like most of the characters from it and its sister series Dynasty Warriors, Naotora is based upon a historical figure, whose most well-known affair revolved around her succeeding her grandfather to become the leader of her clan, adopting a young boy named Naomasa and raising him to be the clan's next successor upon her death. In Samurai Warriors, Naotora is characterized as polite and kind, but is also very shy and, due to also having low self-esteem when it comes to how she leads her clan, often apologizes even to her opponents.

In Super Smash Bros. Naotora Ii attacks foes by slowly running around the stage, attacking foes with powerful kicks. Most of her kicks are basic sideways kicks, though she may also perform a rapid flurry of such, dealing a substantial amount of damage before launching them away with the final kick. She will do all this while also apologizing to her foes.

Cang
Zhou Cang is a fictional character from the Dynasty Warriors series. Zhou Cang is a general of the Yellow Turbans, a group of zealots led by Zhang Jiao whose goal is to overthrow the Han Dynasty, as the group is primarily made up of poor folk who are often at the mercy of bandits that raid their villages. Zhou Cang is a well-documented swimmer and one of the fastest men in all of China. He pledged his allegiance to Guan Yu and Shu after learning about his exploits.

In Super Smash Bros. Zhou Cang aids his summoner using one of his passive Hero Skills from Warriors All-Stars: Lightning Speed. This power boosts his summoner's running speed and attack speed for a short time. If he is attacked for the short time he is on the stage, he will counter such attack with a strike from his weapon.

Doom Slayer
The Doom Slayer is the main protagonist of the long-running DOOM franchise, currently owned by Bethesda Softworks. The Doom Slayer is a marine who, after travelling across "Worlds and Time", was banished to Hell, where he fought for eons against the demons that lives within it and becoming an unstoppable force of destruction. This unnamed warrior wears a strong exoskeleton known as the Praetor Suit.

In Super Smash Bros., the Doom Slayer attacks foes both by firing at them with his DS-117 Shotgun ("Combat Shotgun"), and by simply punching them. He fires his Combat Shotgun at foes that are near him but not right-up next to him, but it has a large conical shot radius; he punches when a foe is close enough to him, and, while this attack has very little range, it does deal quite a bit of knockback.

Serika
Serika Onoe is the main female protagonist of Chaos;Child, the fourth main entry in the Science Adventure series and the sequel to Chaos;Head. Serika is the childhood friend of main protagonist Takuru Miyashiro, and she spent most of her time with him as, like Takuru, her parents were rarely home and thus the two of them were the only company the other had most of the time.

Serika attacks foes with her Di-Sword, a sword described as being both organic and inorganic in design that can connect to the dirac sea and 'real-boot' her illusions. Serika will perform a quick forwards lunge towards a foe, dragging along foes until she performs an upwards slash with her sword. She will do this three times. Like several other assist characters, Serika can be damaged, though she can not be completely defeated; damaging her will simply slow her movements but also increase the damage she deals.

Komaru
Komaru Naegi is the main protagonist of Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, the canonical spin-off that takes place between the events of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Just a normal schoolgirl, due to her brother, Makoto Naegi, being chosen by lottery to attend Hope's Peak Academy's Class 78, the class that would end up having to partake in the Killing School Life, Komaru was taken prisoner and held captive by an army of Monokuma units and a group of children known as the Warriors of Despair in Towa City.

In Super Smash Bros. Komaru assists the one that summoned her by attacking with the Megaphone Hacking Gun she obtained from Byakuya Togami. Komaru will fire four types of the bullets she can obtain in Danganronpa Another Episode, and each have varying effect on those that they hit. Though the Megaphone Hacking Gun is designed to fire "Truth Bullets" of data to disrupt machinery, Komaru's attacks work on all fighters no matter if they are of biological origin or not. The bullets she uses in Super Smash Bros. are:

  • Break deals minor damage and causes foes to flinch. It acts as a very basic projectile attack, though deals more damage to shields than a normal attack of its strength should.
  • Dance deals no damage or knockback whatsoever, instead forcing any fighter hit to perform their taunt.
  • Knockback, as its name implies, deals no damage but an extraordinary amount of knockback. Unlike other Truth Bullets, this one explodes into a pulse should it hit a foe, with the amount of knockback taken depending on the opponent's proximity to the initial detonation point.
  • Paralyze deals a fair amount of electrical damage and also causes any foe hit by it to be stunned in place for a moment.

Komaru's Truth Bullets can be absorbed by some characters or reflected like any other projectile could.

Panzersoldat
The Panzersoldat is a special enemy type that appears in Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The enemy is a zombie trapped within a large metallic suit created by Edward Richtofen and designed to assist in mining the Element 115 discovered at Excavation Site 64. The Panzersoldat's suit has different weapons depending on the map it is present in: in its original appearance on Origins it had an extendable claw and flamethrower, while Der Eisendrache and Revelations replaced the claw with a cannon that fires electrical charges.

In Super Smash Bros. the Panzersoldat is based on its Origins appearance. Once it is spawned, the Panzersoldat will slowly run around the stage and primarily attack foes with its flamethrower, which deals significant damage and causes foes to be stunned. Sometimes it will extend its claw to grab a faraway foe, spraying them up-close with its flamethrower should it successfully trap someone. While the Panzersoldat's attacks deal a significant amount of damage, they do not launch foes. The suit protects the zombie inside from most attacks, though damaging the fuel tanks on its back will actually hurt it and the Panzersoldat can be KO'd by dealing enough damage to this area, making it detonate in an explosion that will harm every fighter on the stage, including the one that spawned it.

Charizard
Charizard, the Flame Pokémon, is a Fire/Flying-type Pokémon and the final evolution of the Fire-type Starter Pokémon of the Kanto region: Charmander. Charizard is a dragon-like Pokémon (though, ironically, is not a Dragon-type Pokémon) that is capable of evoking Mega Evolution to Mega Evolve into either the Fire/Dragon-type Mega Charizard X or the Fire/Flying-type Mega Charizard Y. It is said in various Pokédex entries that the flames that Charizard can emit are of incredible high temperatures, which have been said to increase should Charizard become angered or after experiencing a harsh battle.

In Super Smash Bros., Charizard attacks with the Flamethrower attack, spewing streams of fire to its left and right as it remains in place, turning its head in either left or right. The fire deals minor damage but juggles foes, allowing Charizard's summoner to knock them away once it turns its head in another direction.

Totodile
Totodile, the Big Jaw Pokémon, is a Water-type Pokémon and one of the three Starter Pokémon of the Johto region. Despite being a small Pokémon, Totodile's jaws are incredibly strong, and it will not hesitate to bite anything it may perceive as a threat; this includes its trainer. Totodile also does not understand how strong its bite truly is - though it may intend to playfully nibble another Pokémon or its trainer, even this may cause serious injury.

In Super Smash Bros., Totodile attacks with Water Gun, firing small, but powerful, jets of water that, while they don't deal much damage, do travel quite a fair distance. If Totodile is attacked, it may retaliate by biting the foe that hit it; while it will usually only face a single direction, it will turn around to bite a foe that attacked it from behind, and continue to use Water Gun while facing that direction.

Cyndaquil
Cyndaquil, the Fire Pokémon, is a Fire-type Pokémon and one of the three Starter Pokémon of the Johto region. Cyndaquil are said to be timid little Pokémon who often curl up into balls whenever scared. The fire on their backs also rage at different strengths depending on its mood; when angry, the fire will flare loudly at high temperatures, but when tired it will simply fuzz in and out.

In Super Smash Bros., Cyndaquil attacks with Flame Wheel. Curling up into a ball, Cyndaquil will rush forwards as its body is engulfed in fire. It will travel a set distance (or to the edge of a platform) before uncurling itself and disappearing. Those who come in contact with Cyndaquil will take quite a bit of damage and be knocked away; Cyndaquil will also leave behind a temporary trail of flames that very slightly damages foes without making them flinch.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Grovyle
Grovyle, the Wood Gecko Pokémon, is a Grass-type Pokémon and the evolution of the Grass-type Starter Pokémon of the Johto region: Treecko. Grovyle's body and the leaves that cover it allow it to camouflage within forests and jungles. Due to the strength of its thigh muscles, it has no problems climbing trees or jumping far distances, making it nearly impossible to catch when in a densely-populated forest.

In Super Smash Bros., Grovyle attacks with Leaf Blade, slicing through the entire stage in an X-shape, with the middle of the 'X' being where Grovyle was summoned. Grovyle will cut through the stage four times, appearing as a slash of green energy as it travels, dealing massive damage and knockback to those who are hit.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Pignite
Pignite, the Fire Pig Pokémon, is a Fire/Fighting-type Pokémon and the evolution of the Fire-type Starter Pokémon of the Unova region: Tepig. Pignite has an ever-burning fire in its stomach, which it fuels with the food it eats. As such, the more Pignite eats the more the fire burns and the more powerful it becomes.

In Super Smash Bros., Pignite uses Heat Crash. After being summoned Pignite will throw its body around as it becomes engulfed in flames, dealing massive damage to those it hits and creating explosions should it come in contact with a foe. Pignite will throw itself both horizontally or will throw itself downwards or upwards through semi-soft platforms.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Greninja
Greninja, the Ninja Pokémon, is a Water/Dark-type Pokémon and the final evolution of the Water-type Starter Pokémon of the Kalos region: Froakie. Greninja is capable of conjuring water out of the air's molecules, and can compress it to create extremely strong shurikens that are even capable of cutting metal.

In Super Smash Bros., Greninja will aid its summoner by using its signature attack, Water Shuriken. It will throw these differently-sized shurikens as it bounces and teleports around the stage.

A nocturnal Pokémon by nature, they have extraordinary eyesight in both a lack of light and the brightest daylight; it is said that they are able to pierce a pebble over 100 yards away using one of its arrow-like quills that it can fire at high speeds.

In Super Smash Bros., Decidueye aids its summoner by performing its unique Z-Move: Sinister Arrow Raid. Decidueye will summon a barrage of arrows around it, before flying forwards at a high speed. Coming in contact with any arrow deals massive damage but little knockback, but should a foe touch Decidueye directly they will take even more damage with an incredible amount of knockback.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Primarina

Like other members of its evolutionary family, Primarina is also capable of creating balloons of water with which it can also use for offensive and defensive capabilities.

In Super Smash Bros., Primarina uses its aforementioned signature move Sparkling Aria once summoned. Producing a strange, yet melodious, sound, Primarina fires an X-shaped projectile forwards at a high speed, which deals no damage at first - instead pushing opponents along for a moment. After travelling a set distance, the projectile will explode to knock away and deal those it trapped. Primarina will do this twice.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Magikarp
Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon, is a Water-type Pokémon native to the Kanto region and is the pre-evolution of Gyarados. Despite evolving into Gyarados at level 20, Magikarp are well known for being useless Pokémon, as they can only learn three moves (with one of them, and the only one Magikarp can learn before level 15, being Splash) and generally has low stats in all cases but Speed. Their Pokédex entries speak about their worthlessness, though they have been praised for their ability to survive in even the most polluted of waters.

In Super Smash Bros., Magikarp, true to its reputation, uses Splash. Magikarp will just bounce around in place for a few moments, having no general effect on the battle at all. Humorously, fighters can knock Magikarp around with attacks; while it can be hit into other fighters, they will flinch but take no damage from contact with it.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Abra
Abra, the Psi Pokémon, is a Psychic-type Pokémon native to the Kanto region and is the pre-evolution of Kadabra. This Pokémon is said to have the power to read minds, and even if it does sleep for 18 hours a day it will teleport itself to safety should it sense any dangerous thoughts around it.

In Super Smash Bros. Abra will float in place for a moment before teleporting itself, and all fighters within a small radius around it, to another place on the screen. SSB Pokémon Series.png
Seedot

Seedot has been described as a prankster Pokémon, with its various Pokédex entries describing how it likes to hang from tree branches (like an acorn would) and scare passerby Pokémon. Seedot do have a real reason for hanging on tree branches, however: they absorb nutrients from the tree as food.

In Super Smash Bros., Seedot attacks using Bullet Seed. In the Pokémon series, Bullet Seed a Grass-type move that is capable of hitting up to five times in a row; similarly, in Super Smash Bros., Seedot will fire three small seeds forwards five times as it remains stationary, only turning around to face another direction should there be no fighters in the area in front of it. These seeds deal minor damage and now knockback, though they do stun those that are hit.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Qwilfish
Qwilfish, the Balloon Pokémon, is a Water/Poison-type Pokémon native to the Johto region. Qwilfish's Pokédex entires often explain how it will inflate itself by inhaling large quantities of water, firing the poisonous spikes embedded in its body in all directions as it does so.

In Super Smash Bros. Ditto will accurately transform into a [purple] replica of the fighter that summoned it, and will go around attacking opponents with its new form. Though Ditto will disappear on its own after a time, Ditto can also be KO'd as a normal fighter (though does not grant any points).

Carnivine
Carnivine, the Bug Catcher Pokémon, is a Grass-type Pokémon native to the Sinnoh region. Carnivine has a very plant-like appearance, which allows it to blend in with the flora of marshes. Its drool has a sweet scent, which attracts bugs that Carnivine will chomp down.

In Super Smash Bros., Carnivine uses Leaf Tornado, creating a tornado of leaves that circle around it. These sharp leaves deal damage and trap foes within it, releasing them only when the move finishes.

SSB Pokémon Series.png
Boldore
Boldore, the Ore Pokémon, is a Rock-type Pokémon native to the Unova region and is the evolution of Roggenrola. Its Pokédex entries all explain how Boldore is a vessel for a large amount of power, which can not be contained solely in its rocky body and thus the excess power creates orange crystals that protrude from its body. It has been said that the amount of power contained within these crystals are so great that even a single fragment is capable of providing fuel for 100 dump trucks.

In Super Smash Bros., Boldore attacks using the Rock-type attack Power Gem. Summoning five smaller orange crystals around it, Boldore launches these one-at-a-time at various angles, sometimes slowly moving left or right a few steps in order to aim directly at a foe.

Lanakila.

In Super Smash Bros., Crabominable attacks with its signature move Ice Hammer. Crabominable raises one of its pincers into the air to gather icy wind around it, which forms in the shape of an icy hammer, before slamming it down into the ground. Those it hits directly take massive damage and are frozen in blocks of ice, though as the hammer explodes into a flurry of icicles as it hits the ground, those within a certain radius can also take minor damage and be stunned should they be hit.

Zigzagoon
Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon, is a Normal-type Pokémon and the pre-evolution of Linoone. Zigzagoon constantly wander as if looking for something, but in fact they just do so because they are curious about what they can find. Its name comes from both the zigzag pattern its footprints bare, as well as their tendency to run in a zigzag motion towards objects that have caught their eye.

In Super Smash Bros., Zigzagoon uses Tackle, and will run around the stage and, at points, jump up in a small arc. It deals damages to foes that touch it, with more damage dealt during its jumping tackle.

In Super Smash Bros., Hitmonchan uses three Pokémon moves - Vacuum Wave, Mach Punch, and Sky Uppercut - in addition to a variety of normal punches. Once summoned, Hitmonchan will jump around the stage, dealing damage with normal punches. Occasionally Hitmonchan will throw a more powerful punch as its fist glows with red energy (this attack being Mach Punch), or a powerful uppercut attack (Sky Uppercut). Hitmonchan will also, should no foe be near, punch forwards, sending a powerful tornado that pushes along foes without dealing damage.

They are also not fastened to Tangela's proper body, as the Pokémon will often jiggle its body and cause its vines to shake in order to annoy its foes.

In Super Smash Bros., Tangela uses Power Whip. In Super Smash Bros., Probopass uses Magnet Bomb. Probopass fires small black orbs, which home in on an opponent and will stick to them before exploding. Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon, is a Dark-type Mythical Pokémon native to the Sinnoh region. Darkrai can be seen as the counterpart to Cresselia as, while Cresselia's feather is said to lull those who hold it into a sleep with joyous dreams, Darkrai has the power to cause those around it to fall into a nightmarish sleep from which there can be no escape. In Super Smash Bros., Tornadus uses Hurricane. In the Pokémon series, Hurricane is a Flying-type attack that deals damage to all opposing Pokémon (even should they be airborne during the use of Fly, Bounce, or Sky Drop) and has a 30% chance of confusing the target. In Super Smash Bros. Lunala uses its unique Z-Move, Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom. Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom is the powered-up version of Lunala's signature move Moongeist Beam, and sees the Legendary Pokémon release six blue-white waves of energy from its wings, which fire outwards through all platforms to the ends of the screen. In Super Smash Bros., Mega Rayquaza aids its summoner by being the deadliest Pokémon that can be summoned from the Poké Ball item. Upon being released, it will appear in the background of the stage and fly upwards off the top of the screen. A moment later, Mega Rayquaza will spin downwards onto where its Poké Ball was thrown, creation powerful electric explosions on any platforms it travels through.

It was the first Ultra Beast to be researched in-depth by Alolan scientists, and is classified as UB-01 Symbiont.

In Super Smash Bros. Nihilego uses the powerful Poison-type attack Venoshock, which also appears in the game as Moon's Final Smash. In Super Smash Bros. Blacephalon uses its signature move of Mind Blown. Blacephalon will frolic around the stage happily and detonate its head randomly to deal nearby foes. After its head explodes in a flurry of colourful lights, Blacephalon will wander about, headless, for a moment before it regenerates. It will continue to do this multiple times, and will despawn after a certain amount of time has passed.
