Mr. Yokai's Insanity Carousel Tickets are for fan-made Super Smash Bros. Fighter Passes.

Backstory[edit | edit source]

Mr. Yokai had a long history of trying to make a Smash game. He first did Fantendo Smash Bros. Remix, which was cancelled out of sheer lengthiness of it. The next one was a Super Smash Bros. game that was touted as a mixture of FSB and SSB, but failed. He then attempted to do a strange music-based fighting game but only got far enough to do two stages for it (Circus of Threes and Four to the Floor).

Eventually, Mr. Yokai had to put himself on slack, stepped back, and realized something: his skill level's just too low to do a fully-fledged Super Smash Bros. game. He wasn't really familiar with the gimmicks, and really had trouble balancing it in his opinion. He soon decided that he's going to have to try

The Trailer[edit | edit source]

Upon purchasing the Insanity Carousel Tickets, the player is given the chance to see a cutscene revealing the entire backstory of the Insanity Carousel Tickets. The entire thing happens after The World of Light, but only the good ending.

  • Mr. Yokai: And... DONE. Introducing my very own FIGHTER PASSES! I'm dubbing this thing the Fighter Pass Star.
  • Inkbuster: Okay, how creative! I thought your entire thing was-
  • Mr. Yokai: Nah, I can't just be curveballing for a living. If I always try and avoid the usual, I might crash.
  • Inkbuster: What...???
  • Mr. Yokai: Anyways, I got one thousand of these Fighter Passes. Implement them in the blower. I wish for these to hit the usual.
  • Inkbuster: You're not like this at all! I THOUGHT YOU WERE-
  • Mr. Yokai: Inkbuster. I can't keep dodging the obvious answer forever.
  • Inkbuster: ...okay.
  • Inkbuster soon dumps all the tickets into some random machine. With a reluctant click, he presses the button, as the passes soon fly to the wanted locations. However...
  • Inkbuster: Yikes, they're launching into a time stream! WHAT DO WE DO?!
  • Mr. Yokai: Time stream?! That... that can't be good!
  • Inkbuster: Let's hope none of us get affected! Oh wait, this HQ is supposed to be-
  • Mr. Yokai: Yeah, everything-proof. But... I can always launch more... right?
  • The passes soon hit the time stream, soon time travelling to back to where Kirby was retreating from Galeem's beams of light. As the passes rain down, Kirby struggles to dodge them. However, he is soon hit with one, dying in the process. The world is soon engulfed in light, with no hope... maybe.
  • Cut to Numberland. Sixteen is humming as she soon notices one of the Fighter Passes streaking down, before it crashes near Sixteen. After a sigh of relief, Sixteen looks into the crater.
  • Sixteen: Ooh, what's this? It's an invitation! Maybe to a square party, in fact! *snort* "Congratulations! You are one of the one thousand lucky people to be able to enter the fray in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!" Uh, what's that? Hmm... uh...
  • Cut to Neighborville, where one lands right next to Peashooter. Peashooter picks it up and soon reads it out aloud. Afterwards...
  • Peashooter: Well, guess like it's time for me to turn over another new leaf. Never thought I'd get one of these. *sips water*
  • Cut to a deflated Burt the Ball, with the Fighter Pass barely hitting him. Such an impact resurrects him as he soon picks it up. Not just that, but multiple cuts show what the others are doing; Shoutmon has just received one, Aran Ryan has been shown to have slugged Don Flamenco easily while holding it up in the air, Bulborb found one laying around, Question Block getting hit by one, Le Shushy Smack "grabbing" it, GR-18 finding it in the midst of a LEVEL and having just picked it up with his Tow Cable, Cagney Carnation is reading it before he sees Cuphead approaching, Whoopee Cushner having just picked it up and attempting to read it, etc.
  • Meanwhile...
  • Inkbuster: So, uh, what happened?
  • Mr. Yokai: I killed Kirby. He's supposed to be one to save everyone from the World of Light. I don't blame you. It's my fault for not checking any time streams ahead of time.
  • Inkbuster: Whatcha gonna do, are we just doomed forever? PEH, we're in tough luck!
  • Mr. Yokai: Well... let me see... okay, one-hundred of those passes landed somewhere. Tell you what; hope is still roaming the corners. The time stream did do something positive. But some of these I didn't expect. Regardless, I shall transport them to here, and we may very well be able to save Kirby from his fate.
  • Inkbuster: O-okay.
  • Mr. Yokai: But... some of these I never expected. Thus, I shall rename the Fighter Pass Star to...
  • THE INSANITY CAROUSEL TICKETS

An ending can be viewed after unlocking all of the Insanity Carousel fighters, where they manage to save Kirby. Likewise, the Insanity Carousel fighters are saved by Kirby himself.

List of Characters Available For Insanity Carousel Tickets[edit | edit source]

Players start with Homestar Runner, Magon, Pac-Man, Peashooter, Cirno, Sixteen, and Susie. Two characters must be unlocked through achievements a la other SSB games, those being Vice and Homsar.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Insanity Carousel's name is sort of based off of the Circus of Threes. It's not called "Fighter Pass" since it's got rather insane choices, plus it's missing some aspects of it (such as costumes and stages).
  • Jokingly, the game had a "Ticketdex", spoofing Pokémon.
  • A Boing Boing Betty spirit was planned. Said spirit's battle conditions revolved around the player fighting against Electra (due to the two of them looking slightly similar) as she constantly used her Up special, referencing the fact Boing Boing Betty has a spring in lieu of feet.
  • The creator's fun facts:
    • Mr. Yokai's least favorite moveset is Sylux's. At first, Mr. Yokai thought he had to pull off of a Daisy (add moves completely unrelated to the character), but he soon realized that Sylux can indeed use the other Affinity Weapons.
    • Mr. Yokai wanted to try and restrict his ambitions to reasonable levels as to not soon run out of creativity on making specials, though he did someone get trumped on a few (such as Gregory).
