Shanoa is a faithful member of the Paylrule religion focused around the Dreamers, spiritual beings who are said to watch over the world of the Shifting Tides. She's rather distant most of the time, preferring to spend time with her own thoughts instead of actively socializing, but one of her mysterious abilities- the power to sense and converse with souls that have passed on- brings her no end of grievance and strife. When this ability leads her to believe that she was contacted by the Dreamers in her sleep, Shanoa ventures off to Rogueshore on a quest to prevent what she sees as the end of the world. Encountering multiple individuals whose souls have been separated from their bodies, turned into mindless Husks, Shanoa is forced to partner up with strange allies of her own in order to save the Shifted Tides from becoming a world without soul.
Shanoa begins the game as a bit of a glass cannon, having the best base speed in the party and decent attacking stats but middling defenses and the lowest HP available. Luckily, her high Guts means she has a good chance of surviving hits with 1 HP, giving her more survival ability than one would expect. Shanoa, given her stats, is best suited towards playing some variant of speedy offensive role, with equipped Souls and Mastery Titles changing her from a glass cannon to an all-around character or giving her a magical or physical preference.

Origin: Devil May Cry
Nero hails from the city of Neo Purgatorio, a shady and neon-lit palace of sin located on the edge of civilization. Raised by his father, a swordmaster named Vergil, Nero's a cocky, arrogant, and rebellious teen with a massive amount of skill in combat; he's since honed these skills in an attempt to follow in his father's footsteps, becoming a bit of a demon hunter and fearsome combatant. Recently, however, Vergil appears to have gone missing, leading Nero to scour the world in search of his lost father. This culminates in his arrival in Rogueshore, where he encounters Shanoa in a bit of an aggressive meeting. After encountering the first Husks, however, Nero allies with her to find his father, aiming to ensure that he hasn't been taken by the same mysery force.
Wielding a heavily offensive and defensive combat style, Nero is set up as the designated tank of the main party, possessing high HP and Guys alongside his defensive stats to keep him in the fight for as long as possible. While his physical attack is also high, he lacks magic capabilities and SP to use more powerful skills, and his speed is among the lowest of all the playable cast, though this can be averted through the use of specific Souls or Mastery titles.

Origin: Octopath Traveller
Tressa Colozone is a young and optimistic girl who resides in the shady town of Rogueshore- not exactly the location that one would expect such a pure-hearted person as Tressa to reside. Tressa resides with her friend and surrogate father figure, Olberic Eisenberg, as she does her best to provide for them both as she practices her skills as a merchant in the Rogueshore marketplace. Despite her innocent look, she's a shrewd businesswoman with very few scruples, leaving her one of the masters of the cutthroat town she resides in. First encountering Shanoa when she arrives on a mission from the Dreamers, Tressa is swept up into the conflict when Olberic attacks the town, his personality and spirit drained as he is reduced to nothing more than a soulless, violent husk. Torn by having to seemingly kill her only friend and partner and determined to take revenge on those responsible, Tressa joins Shanoa's party.
Tressa's initial stats are built around being a support character, with low physical attack and poor guts to make up for it, but very good health and defensive stats alongside having the best base SP out of the four party members. This enables her to work well as a supporting character from the sidelines, her defensive stats keeping her in the fray as she boosts her teammates and her high SP letting her use moves with little interruption. Of course, between equippable Souls and Mastery Titles, her stats can be modified in any number of ways.

Origin: Kingdom Hearts
Roxas is a calm, collected, and pure-hearted teen with just one problem... He doesn't know his own past. As far as he knows, he just sort of woke up one day in Rogueshore without any memories of his prior life. He's been content to simply remain in the town and enjoy himself- seeing the opportunity for a bit of a vacation, free from worry- his life is thrown into turmoil when mysterious strangers appear in the city, soon followed by the appearance of dangerous Husks and the manifestation of his own bizarre magical abilities. Desperate for answers, Roxas decides to travel along with Shanoa in order to find out who exactly he is and why all of this is happening.
Roxas focuses heavily on the use of magic, leaning heavily towards its use on both the offensive and defensive spectrum. While this does lead him to excel as both an offensive mage and a decent healer, it also cripples his physical power and ability to tank melee attacks. Take note of these strengths and weakness when choosing what role Roxas will play within your party, or adapt to them using equipment and Mastery Titles!
